Gallery owner Charles-Wesley Hourde, specialized in classical arts from Africa, Oceania and America, partnered with Clémence Houdart, consultant and visual arts researcher, to create and develop a new autonomous branch dedicated to contemporary art. Together, they founded 31 Project.

At AKAA Fair — Also Known As Africa, Project 31 presents Georgina Maxim, Aviwe Plaatjie, and Pierre Segoh.
