Galerie Atiss Dakar presents Ngimbi Bakambana Luve, Moussa Traoré, and Ousmane Bâ at Investec Cape Town Art Fair

Galerie Atiss Dakar was founded in 1996 by Aissa Dione. Since then, the gallery has gained a reputation for spotting and incubating raw artistic talent from West Africa.

Ngimbi Bakambana Luve was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, in 1977 and trained at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kinshasa. He also received musical training at the Conservatoire de Nanterre, France. In his expressionist approach, Bakambana uses color to express what words express in verbal communication.

Born in Sikasso, Mali, Moussa Traoré is interested in the art of bogolan, a traditional textile (Mudcloth), its hidden messages, and the symbolism of ideograms. The theme that dominates his questioning is the identity of man, which leads the artist to create a whole universe of contorted and disturbing forms.

Ousmane Bâ was born and raised in France, Strasbourg, at the border with Germany. He found inspiration in the Japanese arts and moved to Japan to develop his style in 2017. He has shown his work in various Japanese galleries, such as FUKAGAWA GARAGE or Trunk Hotel.
