Photographer, artist, and educator, Herberto Smith was born in Guinea-Bissau, grew up in São Tomé and Príncipe, lives and works in Portugal, currently in Alentejo. We get to know his professional journey and interest in portraiture as a photographic practice, which he does commercially and artistically. The projects linked to youth culture and music, his inspirational figures, and collaborative and relational methodologies. The strength of the black movement and what it is to be a black artist in Portugal.
