African Arty is an art gallery displaying African art, providing tailored support to artists through exhibitions and international fairs. With a network across continents, it partners with institutions and curators to connect cultural actors and discover talents. The gallery operates in Marrakech, Casablanca, Paris, and London, alongside its annual international fair program.

For this edition, African Arty showcases the creative works of artists Annaelle Myriam Chaaib, Massoud Hayoun, and Penda Diakite.

Anaelle Myriam Chaaib’s art blends French and Moroccan imagery, creating a poetic narrative with humor and tenderness. Her works, infused with childhood reminiscences, explore the past, present, and reality/fiction realms. Chaaib’s passion for art and gastronomy allows her to express personal and political themes through her acrylics and gouache on paper.

Massoud Hayoun, a renowned author and investigative journalist, has released a collection of autobiographical artworks featuring his Tunisian and Moroccan-Egyptian grandparents. The artworks, inspired by a conversation with artist Ai Weiwei, reflect Hayoun’s journey from an investigative journalist to a fine artist. Recognized by the Mathqaf art organization, Hayoun’s artworks have been praised for their authenticity and personal expression.

Penda Diakite, a Malian-American artist, combines her Malian roots with American influences in her art. Born in Mali, she began her artistic journey with traditional bogolanfini (mud cloth) painting. She studied Film/Video at the California Institute of the Arts, where she developed a mixed-media collage technique. Diakité’s work combines traditional West African painting methods, hand-engraving, and paper collage, expressing her bicultural experiences and articulating stories of identity, culture, and tradition.
