The Republic of Cameroon participates in the 60th La Biennale di Venezia with the project “Nemo propheta in patria,” which showcases the talents of five Cameroonian artists and eight international artists from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Colombia, and China.

The Pavilion, held at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose, is the first to achieve a Carbon Net Zero exhibition, focusing on emission reduction and material reuse. The theme, inspired by the Biennale’s focus on “Strangers Everywhere,” explores the Latin phrase “Nemo propheta in patria” (No one is a prophet in their land), reflecting the universal struggle of innovators to gain acceptance and understanding in their home environments. Dubbed the “pavilion of wonders,” this space showcases the work of Cameroonian and international artists outside their home countries, aligning with the Biennale theme of diaspora and migration. It unites diverse artistic expressions, celebrating the resilience of those who persist with their creative visions despite local recognition.

The Republic of Cameroon Pavilion will host culturally enriching events featuring international artists and is supported by the Donà dalle Rose Foundation, BIAS Institute, The Doge Venice Red Carpet, Cometh, and Massimo Scaringella.
