Today, ARCOlisboa 2024 turns Lisbon into a pivotal global gathering for collectors, gallery owners, artists, and industry professionals. Celebrating its 7th edition, the event is hosted at the Cordoaria Nacional from May 23 to 26, featuring a rich display of works from 470 artists represented by 84 selected galleries from 15 different countries.
The General Programme features both local and international galleries, highlighting their commitment to high-quality artistic presentations. The fair includes two main curated segments: ‘The Shapes of the Ocean’ (As formas do Oceano) by Paula Nascimento and Igor Simões, focusing on connections with Africa, and the OPENING section by Chus Martínez and Luiza Teixeira de Freitas, which explores emerging artistic languages and spaces.
In the General Programme the galleries list include, among others: 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, Balcony Gallery, Bruno Múrias, Carlos Carvalho Arte Contemporânea, Cristina Guerra, Fernando Santos, Filomena Soares, Foco, Francisco Fino, Galeria 111, Graça Brandão, Kubikgallery, Lehmann + Silva, Madragoa, Miguel Nabinho, No·No, Perve, Presenca, Quadrado Azul, Vera Cortês (all from Portugal), Document (Portugal / USA), Jahn Und Jahn (Germany / Portugal), Monitor (Portugal / Italy), Pedro Cera (Portugal / Spain), THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE (Portugal / Angola), and L’Atelier 21 Art Gallery (Morocco).
Participants in ‘The Shapes of the Ocean’ include African Arty (Africa), Coletivo Amarelo (Portugal), 31 PROJECT, Christophe Person, and Nil Gallery, all from France, with Lis10 Gallery operating from both France and Italy, and Karla Osorio and NONADA from Brazil.
