African Arty presents its summer exhibition, ‘Shapes & Materials,’ featuring the recent works of three distinguished Moroccan artists: Mohammed Arrhioui, Noureddine Rejraji, and Zouhair Chihad, on display until September 16th.

Mohammed Arrhioui, a graduate of Casablanca School of Fine Arts, uses eggshells as a symbol to express human emotions through his visual art. His work explores the fragility of existence and the profound emotions experienced by the human soul. Eggshells, delicate and fragile, symbolize the vulnerability of the human body to suffering, offering a glimpse into the personal and intimate wounds each individual carries, encouraging inward and reflective exploration.

Noureddine RejRaji, a Marrakech-based artist and sculptor, uses tires, inner tubes, and palm fiber to create art that embodies 100% reuse and transformation. His work reflects an ecological commitment to dynamic recycling, promoting the planet’s health. RejRaji’s art invites reflection and reverie through its curves and material blends, urging us to open our eyes and consider the consequences of our consumption. Nature is rebelling against an industrial society that consumes without considering its consequences.

Zouhair Chihad, a National Plastic Arts Prize winner, is a multidisciplinary artist who uses various techniques to create visual metaphors for fractals. Born in a neighborhood with traditional architecture and Islamic influence, Chihad draws inspiration from the vibrant colors and intricate details of mosques and ancient houses. His works aim to make the invisible visible, translating the complexity of fractals into an understandable artistic language, and showcasing the beauty of human forms.

This exhibition meticulously explores the dynamic interplay between materials and forms within distinctive frameworks, emphasizing the vibrant and diverse nature of contemporary Moroccan art.
