Fondation H presents ‘Memoria : récits d’une autre Histoire’, a group exhibition, on display until 28 February 2025.

‘Memoria : récits d’une autre Histoire’ is an exhibition that explores the concept of collective memory, a tapestry woven from diverse personal stories and experiences. The exhibition features 22 artists who reconstruct a shared, universal memory, offering new insights into contemporary creative expressions from Africa and its diasporas.

The 22 artists transcend conventional art boundaries, representing the variety in our individual and collective pasts. Their works, ranging from paintings and sculptures to videos and performances, echo a demystified interpretation of history and challenge prevailing beliefs about the African continent. The exhibition is designed as a series of proposals, contributing to a future jointly shaped by our combined memories.

‘Memoria : récits d’une autre Histoire’ features a three-chapter exhibition: ‘From the Intimate to the Universal: Recreating a Shared History’, ‘Memory as a Policy Tool’, and ‘Confabulations, Fictions, and Other Imaginings’.

The exhibition features works by the following artists: Amalia Ramanankirahina, Barbara Portailler, Carine Ratovonarivo, Charlotte Yonga, Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, Enam Gbewonyo, Georgina Maxim, Gosette Lubondo, Joana Choumali, Joey Aresoa, Josèfa Ntjam, Justine Gaga, Marie-Claire Messouma Manlanbien, Miora Rajaonary, Myriam Mihindou, Na Chainkua Reindorf, Richianny Ratovo, Selly Raby Kane, Tuli Mekondjo, and Vonjiniaina Ratovonirina.
