Geen Wilkinson’s solo exhibition “The Right Moment” opens at WORLDART in Cape Town.
WORLDART is excited to announce the opening of “The Right Moment,” a solo exhibition by Geen Wilkinson, on Saturday, 7 September. This anticipated exhibition will feature a collection of Wilkinson’s signature ceramic and resin artworks, alongside a new series of paintings that mark an exciting evolution in her artistic journey.

Known for her innovative use of materials, Geen Wilkinson has established herself as an artist to watch in contemporary South African art. In “The Right Moment,” she continues to explore memory and nostalgia with the creation of artworks that feature resin and ceramic versions of the sweets we know and grew up with.

These pieces, renowned for their intricate detail and unique finish, will be displayed alongside her latest venture into painting, offering a fresh perspective on her artistic vision.

“We are thrilled to host Geen Wilkinson’s 2024 solo exhibition at WORLDART,” said gallery director Charl Bezuidenhout. “Her ability to create artworks that trick the viewer into believing they are looking at the real thing, lead them down the path of nostalgia and then make them feel the impossibility of going back in time to experience something again, is very exciting.”

The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday 7 September from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at WORLDART, located at 54 Church Street in Cape Town. It will run till 27 September 2024. The public and press are warmly invited to attend. For further information, press inquiries, or to schedule a private viewing, please contact Charl Bezuidenhout at 082 901 5045 or charl@worldart.co.za.
