193 Gallery is delighted to be presenting a solo exhibition by Joana Choumali at ARCOmadrid 2025 (Booth 7A22). Her latest body of work, created especially for this occasion, continues her exploration of memory, introspection, and the poetic beauty of everyday landscapes through a unique combination of photography, embroidery, collage, and painting.

Joana Choumali (b. 1974, Côte d’Ivoire) has exhibited widely and is the recipient of the Prix Pictet and a Robert Gardner Fellowship at Harvard. Her work is held in prestigious collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria & Albert Museum, MACAAL, Perez Art Museum, and High Museum of Art.
