It was in Luanda that her passion for fine arts and photography was born. She took part in a competition organised by the Banco Espírito Santo de Angola (BESA) in which she was the first winner. The photo whose title is "Afrobasketologia" took the prize. Her love for colours led her to paint. She made her first drawings at nursery school, but it was at least five years ago that she started her career. Francisca Meireles, or 'Chiquinha', her colleague, used to sell T-shirts with hand-made drawings on them. Seeing Indira's talent, she offered her the necessary material to develop her art. Besides T-shirts, she also started painting on other surfaces such as glass, porcelain, wood and canvas.
