L’ATELIER 21 presents “Resonances” by Nabil El Makhloufi

Through Resonances, Nabil El Makhloufi continues a body of work in which figuration, shaped by his dual grounding between Morocco and Germany, opens onto a meditation on the individual, the collective, exile, and transitional spaces.

Through Resonances, Nabil El Makhloufi continues a body of work in which figuration, shaped by his dual grounding between Morocco and Germany, opens onto a meditation on the individual, the collective, exile, and transitional spaces. Born in Fez and trained at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig, the artist transposes into his canvases the experience of this cultural and geographical in-between. Dominated by figuration and oscillating between realism and the imaginary, Nabil El Makhloufi’s paintings—imbued with silence—explore themes of belonging, migration, and existential quest.
