space Un joins the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair Marrakech 2026, marking an important moment for transnational cultural exchange.
Newly founded in Tokyo, space Un is dedicated to Contemporary African Art and to fostering dialogue between Japan and African countries. Initiated by Edna Dumas and co-founded by actor and artist Yuta Nakano, the venue brings together visual art, music, readings, and broader cultural programmes. Its exhibitions draw from Dumas’s collection alongside curated commercial presentations, offering a distinctive platform within Japan and the wider Asian region. As the project develops, future initiatives will include residencies, grants, publications, and limited editions.
space Un will present its programme at La Mamounia during the fair, with VIP and press previews on 5 and 6 February, followed by public days on 7 and 8 February.
