While the MoMa in New York is currently devoting a monographic exhibition to Frédéric Bruly Bouabré entitled “Frédéric Bruly Bouabré: World Unbound”, MAGNIN-A gallery is pleased to present “On ne compte pas les étoiles” in its space at 118, boulevard Richard-Lenoir in Paris. This exhibition, whose title refers to the eponymous book by Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, offers a rare and historic collection of drawings, little or never shown, made by the artist between 1983 and the early 2000s. Of the many artistic discoveries and friendships that André Magnin has made, the one with Frédéric Bruly Bouabré stands out. From their meeting on April 11, 1988 in Marcory, in the suburbs of Abidjan, until Bouabré’s death in 2014, the two men built a sensitive and unfailing relationship.
